Authorities book Geelani’s aide under Public Safety Act

Bandipora: Continuing its drive against what they call ‘anti-national’ elements, authorities after arresting a senior separatist leader and close aide of Syed Ali Geelani booked him under contentious Public Safety Act on Friday.

   Reports said District President All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) Bandipora Sheikh Danish Mushtaq was arrested by police two weeks ago. He was detained in a police station and today booked booked under the PSA vide order order number DMB/37/2019.

    A police official told news agency CNS that the Sheikh Danish Mushtaq who hails from Aloosa Bandipora had been arrested in the middle of the March for his role in anti-national activities. “He was involved in creating disturbances and was a threat to peace and order,” he said.

   Sheikh according to family has been shifted to Kupwara jail.
