A joint team of Army's 55RR, 53RR, 23 Para, SOG and CRPF's 182,183 BN launched cordon and search operation in more than half a dozen villages of the district early morning.

Reports said that the forces launched door-to-door searches in Lassipora, Armula, Alaipura, Batnur, Garbug, Naupora Payeen, Hajdarpora and Achan areas of the district.

The search operation has been launched a day after suspected militants killed three militants after abducting them from their homes in adjoining Shopian district.
