Gurdwara Defacement? Army clarifies

Srinagar, Apr 8, CNS: Army Monday clarified that they respect sentiments of each and every people. The statement came in wake of the allegations that it has defaced the structure of a religious place located in Leh Ladakh.

“Regarding the  ongoing renovation work being carried out to the boundary wall of a holy place in Leh."

"We wish to assure the people that Indian Army respects the sentiments of each and every citizen and the issue is being addressed appropriately.”Col Rajesh Kalia PRO( Defence) Srinagar said in a statement.

Earlier, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) had expressed deep anguish and concern over the alleged defacement of a Gurdwara located in the Leh area of Ladakh division of Jammu & Kashmir. The Committee had urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene and get the matter solved within shortest possible time.
