Indian soldier killed in cross border firing

Kupwara: An army man was killed after the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.

“Cease Fire Violation (CFV) by Pakistan in Machil Sector of Kupwara district at around 1045 hours today,” Srinagar-based defence spokesman in a statement said.

“Own troops retaliated strongly. One soldier martyred in enemy fire,”army spokesman said.
