Militants snatch two rifles from security guards of a political worker in South Kashmir

Anantnag: Militants this evening decamped with 2 service rifles of 2 policemen at Dabran area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district.

Sources said that two PSO's of a political worker were overpowered by militants at Dabran village.

Sources identified political worker as Advocate Gowher Ahmed of Aasnoor Watoo village of Kulgam who along with his security guards had arrived at Dabran hamlet.

Militants manage to snatch one Ak 47 and ne Insas.Gowher is a political leader and is affiliated with Jammu Kashmir Bachav tehreek headed by Gani vakil.Worker

A police official told Kashmir News Trust that they are ascertaing the facts.

Police version:

Police has learnt that from the residence of a protected person at Dabran Anantnag two weapons have been taken away. 

The PSOs were from security wing and Kulgam police respectively. The circumstances of the weapon disappearance are being investigated. 

The Protected Person was apparently not present at his house. Police has registered a case and investigation has been started.
