Srinagar: Scores of People’s Democratic Party workers from Chadoora constituency of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district Monday urged upon Party president Mehbooba Mufti to field the known businessman Muhammad Yasin Bhat as PDP candidate in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Reports said that a large number of party workers from Chadoora constituency arrived here in party president Mehbooba Mufti’s Gupkar residence. The workers were demanding that Yasin Bhat should be given mandate for the upcoming Assembly elections. They said that Bhat is a known figure in the constituency and has the potential to emerge as the victorious candidate.

“After the resignation of Javaid Mustafa Mir, we are pinning our hopes on Muhammad Yasin Bhat. We hope that party will not hurt our sentiments and will field Bhat as its candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections from Chadoora Constituency,” said one of the senior workers to news agency CNS.
Later on party president Mehbooba Mufti and senior leader Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora addressed the workers. Mehbooba Mufti assured workers that their demand will be kept in mind during the core group meeting. She said that party’s core group will take a final call on the issue.
