Assault from a ‘mentally’ sick man: Another person succumbs, toll 4

Another man injured during an assault by a mentally sick man in South Kashmir’s has succumbed to his injuries taking the toll to 4.

The victim has been identified as Muhammad Sultan Saka son of Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Diyaroo Ashmuqam Anantnag.

Pertinently, during the intervening night of December 22 and 23, a mentally sick man identified as Javaid Hasan Hajam allegedly beat up six persons including his mother among which three persons including the mother of the accused died in the hospital.

The victims who died in the hospital were Hafiza Begum, Ghulam Nabi Khadim, and Muhammad Amin Shah.

Official sources confirmed the death of another person in the hospital. So far 4 persons lost their lives in the assault. Another person identified as Muhammad Ramzan is still undergoing treatment in SKIMS Srinagar. [KNT]
