Srinagar locality reels under darkness due to faulty transformer

The inhabitants of Mandir Bagh and Gawkadal area of Srinagar city have expressed resentment over the installation of a faulty transformer. These areas have been reeling under darkness as the transformer that was replaced a couple of days ago has again become defunct.

The locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the transformer in the area is a faulty one and when it was damaged, the same transformer was installed with minor repairs. They said that despite repeated appeals to authorities, the problem persists much to the sufferings of the inhabitants.

“There are clear-cut directions from the senior functionaries of the government that the electric transformers be fully repaired and installed immediately, but it seems the concerned PDD officials are making a mockery of the government claims,” the locals said. [KNT]
