Malik Market Incident: Apni Party leader among 8 arrested in Jammu

Police have arrested 8 persons including an Apni Party leader for allegedly resorting to stone pelting that took place during an ‘encroachment’ drive at Malik Market area of Jammu on Saturday.

Police said that after the stone-pelting, CCTV footage was checked, and ‘culprits’ were identified. Police added that a District Development Council member from Doda and Apni Party leader Mehraj Malik among eight people have so far been arrested.

“They have been arrested under relevant sections of law,” police said.

Notably, some people resorted to minor stone-pelting amid protest during an anti-encroachment drive at Malik Market in Jammu in presence of civil and police administration officials. [KNT]
