Bharat Petroleum Corporation, LPG BU today launched a 15 day awareness camp for consumer rights protection and customer safety in the usage of LPG cylinders, particularly for truck drivers and small dhaba owners who are mostly using ‘illegal’ refilled cylinders and also unauthorized cooktops fitted on them.

The event was launched across Kashmir Valley and Ladakh by Rizwan Ahmad Dar, who is looking after LPG in Kashmir Valley and Ladakh, Bharat Petroleum in the presence of various distributors and company official Mr. Shahid.

The events were conducted at Parimpira Fruit Mandi and Achabal with transporters and hotel owners organized by Bharat Gas LPG Distributors. Consumers were made aware of consumer rights in LPG and safety aspects and everyone appreciated BPCLs efforts in this initiative.

The illegally filled Gas in 5KG cylinders is not only less by 1-2kgs but highly unsafe and has caused accidents in the past with customers won’t be able to get insurance claims. Illegally filled gas is also costlier than Bharat Petroleum provided 5KG cylinder by around Rs 40-50 per Kg. So, by using Bharat Petroleum-provided Bharat gas cylinders and attached LERC-approved cooktops the consumers are saved from Gas short filling, ensure safe operation and get affordable pricing and if any accident happens customers would be able to get insurance claims also. These cylinders are easily available for take away just with ID proof and are available with Bharat Gas distributors.

The company also launched a Helpline Number 9797281830 (Mr. Shahid) for Kashmir and Ladakh for any enquires for not only customers but retailers and supply points like Fair Price Shops who can participate in this camp as sellers. [KNT]
