Man injured in Handwara leopard attack

A man from North Kashmir’s Handwara was injured in a leopard attack.

Official sources said that the condition of the man identified as Hamza Hasan Mir is stated to be critical.

The victim was attacked by the wild cat when he was busy in his work at his orchard in Yaroo village of Handwara.

After the attack the victim (50) was shifted to hospital, said a Wild Department official to KNT.

The official urged the residents to stay vigilant and report any sighting of the big cat to the authorities.

The local residents said that despite efforts to mitigate the problem, such incidents continue to occur, posing a threat to both humans and well as domestic animals. [KNT]
