4 mourners including 2 ladies die in Rajouri road accident

Four persons including two ladies died while 8 others sustained injuries after a vehicle they were travelling met with an accident in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The mishap took place on Thanamandi-Bhangai road.

The victims were on way to Bhangai village from Poonch to attend a funeral. The accident occurred in pre-dawn hours.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that there were 12 passengers on the board among which 4 died and 8 are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The official identified the deceased as Shamim Akhtar (55), Rubina Kouser (35), Zarina Begum and Muhammad Younis (38), all residents of Bhangai.

Eight injured patients have been identified as Shaheen Begum (40), Zaitoon Begum (35), Shaheen Begum (45), Begum Jaan (50), Fatima Begum (60), Suriya Begum (35), Kulsoom Begum (40), and Muhammad  Qasim (60) all residents of Bhangai.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Thanamandi Imtiaz Ahmed said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered. [KNT]
