Govt announces winter break for Kashmir schools, Teachers directed to remain available on demand

As the cold grips Valley, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir on Saturday announced a long winter break for the students from Primary to 12 standard students.

As per the order issued by the Director School Education, there will be a winter break for lower primary students to 8th standard from 28 November 2023 to 29 February 2024, and for 9th class students up to 12th standard, the break will start from 11 December 2023 to 29 February 2024.

The order as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust reads that the teaching staff shall report back to their respective schools on 21st February, 2024, so that they remain available for making arrangements regarding preparation of ensuing examinations.

Further, all teachers have been directed to remain available on demand for any online guidance of students during the vacation period and any default on the part of the Head of the Schools/Teaching staff in observance of the above schedule shall attract strict action under rules. [KNT]
