Trio selling fake gold biscuits to buyers arrested in Central Kashmir’s Budgam

 

Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district Tuesday said that it arrested trio with counterfeit gold biscuits.

Police said that Police Station Khansahib received information from reliable sources indicating therein involvement of a group of individuals in the illicit trade of counterfeit gold biscuits.

Acting on the tip-off, a suspect vehicle with (JK04F-5047) was intercepted near the Gogjipathri crossing. Three persons on board were arrested after the search, and 239 gold-like biscuits suspected to be counterfeit were recovered. The accused individuals were unable to substantiate the authenticity of these items.

Police identified the trio as Fayaz Dar of Malwa Kunzar, Farooq Dar, and Shabir Dar both residents of Arizal Khansahib
Police said that initial investigation suggests that these persons were allegedly selling these fake gold biscuits to buyers at exorbitant rates and deceiving them. [KNT]
