Death of 3 civilians: Govt declares compensation, jobs, initiates legal action

Reacting over the death of three civilians in Poonch after the Bafliaz militant attack the government on Saturday declared compensation as well as compassionate jobs to the next to the kin of the deceased.

The government Tweeted: “The death of three civilians was reported yesterday in Baffliaz of Poonch District. The medico legal formalities were conducted and legal action in this matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority. Government has announced compensation for each of the deceased.

Further Government has also announced compassionate appointments to the next of kin of each deceased.”

Earlier, PDP President and former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister while addressing a press conference alleged that after the encounter army picked up 15 persons who were tortured. She said among them 3 persons died and rest have been hospitalized.

She said Chenab Valley was once militancy free but the ‘Naya Kashmir’ of BJP has made it hell.

CPIM leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami also demanded a probe in the incident. Women workers of Jammu Kashmir Apni Party staged a protest against the civilian killings and demanded justice for victims. [KNT]
