Public Service Commission to get new Chairman ‘within days’: Chief Secretary

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) which has been rendered headless for over 3 months will get a new Chairman ‘within days’.

The previous Chairman of the Commission Satish Chandra attained superannuation on 19 November, 2023 and since then the Commission is headless, much to the sufferings of the job aspirants.

In the absence of the Chairman, the ongoing recruitment process has been stalled and exams are being continuously postponed.

When the news agency Kashmir News Trust contacted the Chief Secretary Atul Daloo in this regard, he said the Chairman for the Public Service Commission will be appointed within days. “The Commission will get the new Chairman within days. I assure you, there will be a new Chairman within days,” the Chief Secretary said. [KNT]
