Cop assaulted during execution of  court warrant in South Kashmir’s Shopian

Shopian, May 27, KNT: The police have registered a case against some ‘miscreants’ for assaulting a policeman when he had gone to the village to execute a warrant from the court against an offender in South Kashmir’s Shopian village.
 
 Local sources informed the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a cop sustained grievous injuries after a police team went to Khurmpora village of Shopian to execute a court warrant.
  
The team had gone to the house of one identified as Manzoor Ahmed. Sources added that some people mostly relatives of the accused assaulted a policeman there. After sustaining injuries, the cop identified as Ajaz Ahmed was taken to the district hospital Shopian where he was shifted to SKIMS Soura.
   

Police have registered an FIR vide number 25/2024 under sections 147,148,353,307,332 at police station Imam Sahab in this regard.
