23 soldiers killed, 32 injured in J&K this year

 

Srinagar, Sep 14, KNT: At least 23 soldiers have been killed in different encounters with militants across Jammu and Kashmir in the current year. Besides the death of 23 soldiers, 32 army men sustained injuries in these gunfights.

The data available with the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that till September this year, besides the killing of 23 soldiers, 2 CRPF personnel and a Village Defense Guard member were also killed in militant actions.

The data reveals that the surge in militancy-related incidents particularly in the Jammu region resulted in the deaths of 26 uniformed personnel and injuries to 36 others.

The fatalities and injuries have occurred in multiple districts, including Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in North Kashmir; Kulgam and Anantnag in South Kashmir; and Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Doda, and Udhampur in the Jammu region. [KNT]
