Three militants killed in North Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Sep 14, KNT: In a joint operation, joint forces neutralized three militants in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday morning. The encounter followed the death of two Indian Army soldiers during an operation in Kishtwar district of the Jammu region on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, joint forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Chak Taper Kreeri Pattan area of Baramulla late on Friday night. As the search party combed the area, militants opened fire, prompting a swift response from the forces.

The ensuing gunfight resulted in the killing of three militants on Saturday morning. The identities and affiliations of the slain militants are still being investigated. [KNT]
