J&K Police Initiates Action Against Fake Facebook Profile of ADGP Jammu

Jammu, Jan 23, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched legal proceedings after a fake Facebook account impersonating Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, was discovered.

According to a police spokesperson, the fraudulent profile used the ADGP’s name, photograph, and a misleading introduction claiming affiliation with the “Department Jammu & Kashmir ADGP, Director, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K.” The account was reportedly being used to deceive the public and exploit their trust.

“We strongly condemn such unethical and fraudulent activities. The public is urged to stay vigilant and avoid interacting with messages, friend requests, or solicitations from fake accounts,” the spokesperson said, adding that similar scams in the past have caused financial and emotional harm to victims.
