ACB Raids Residence of Revenue Official in Bandipora in Corruption Case

Bandipora, Mar 25, KNT: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted a raid at the residence of a patwari, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, in the Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

According to official sources, the raid was carried out following complaints of alleged corrupt practices involving the revenue official. A team of ACB sleuths searched Bhat’s residence and reportedly seized several incriminating documents related to land records and financial transactions.

“The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into corruption allegations against the patwari. We have recovered some crucial documents, and further scrutiny is underway,” an ACB official told Kashmir News Trust (KNT) on condition of anonymity.

Locals in the area have welcomed the action, alleging that corruption in the revenue department has been rampant, making it difficult for ordinary citizens to get their work done without offering bribes. “This is a much-needed step. We hope the authorities take strict action against all corrupt officials who exploit the system for personal gains,” said a social activist. [KNT]
