Lawyer Seeks FIR Against Coaching Centre for Allegedly Misleading JEE Claim, Accuses SKIE Classes of Cheating to Attract Admissions

Srinagar, Apr 25, KNT: A Srinagar-based lawyer, Advocate Aamir Masoodi, has approached Police Station seeking the registration of an FIR against the management of SKIE Classes, a coaching centre located in Parray Pora, area of uptown Srinagar for allegedly making false claims regarding a student’s success in the JEE 2025 examination.

In his written complaint addressed to the Station House Officer, Police Station Sadar, Advocate Masoodi has accused the institute of deceiving the public by announcing through advertisements and social media that a girl student scored 99.84 percentile in the JEE 2025. He alleged that upon verification, the claim turned out to be false, with the student reportedly securing only 73%, which does not meet the qualification criteria for the exam.

“The coaching centre has used this fabricated claim purely to mislead students and their parents for the purpose of boosting admissions,” Masoodi stated in his complaint. He termed the act as “a clear case of cheating and misrepresentation that exploits public trust for commercial benefits,” adding that it is punishable under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant laws.
