Encounter Underway in J&K’s Udhampur, 4–5 Militants Believed Trapped

 

Udhampur, June 26, KNT: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants on Thursday in the Sazi area near Karoor Nallah in Jammu and Kashmir’s Basantgarh region of Udhampur district.

Officials said the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the densely forested terrain. As the joint teams of Army, police, and paramilitary forces moved in, they came under fire, prompting a retaliatory action.

Initial reports suggest that 4 to 5 militants are likely trapped in the area. Intermittent firing was reported till the last updates came in.
