Police sources confirmed that Pervaiz Ahmad Bhat has a history of involvement in drug peddling and was part of a wider network supplying narcotics in the region, particularly targeting the local youth. His activities, police said, posed a direct threat to public health and social stability.
“This action is part of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s sustained campaign to dismantle drug trafficking networks by choking their financial lifelines,” a senior police official said. “We are committed to eliminating the drug menace by not only arresting offenders but also by targeting the assets they have illegally acquired.” [KNT]
