In a significant step toward curbing the drug menace in Kashmir, the Budgam Police have attached immovable property worth approximately Rs 25 lakhs under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The property, a single-line shopping complex comprising five commercial shops, is situated in Nasrullapora area of the district.
This crackdown is linked to FIR No. 271/2022 registered at Police Station Budgam under Sections 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act. The action targets a known drug trafficker, Parvez Ahmad Dar alias Pare Punjabi, son of Mohammad Anwar Dar, a resident of Nasrullapora, Budgam.
According to police sources, the attached property is believed to have been raised through proceeds of drug trafficking. Officials say this strategic action sends a strong message that not only will drug peddlers be arrested, but their financial empires will also be dismantled.
The seizure forms part of Budgam Police’s broader and sustained campaign to combat narcotics, which includes both preventive and punitive measures aimed at eliminating the roots of drug financing. The District Police have been taking proactive steps, including the freezing of assets and attachment of movable and immovable properties belonging to accused individuals under the NDPS Act.

Senior police officials reaffirmed their commitment to intensify operations against drug syndicates and reiterated that such actions would continue against those indulging in drug trade.
