Anantnag, July 30, KNT: Parents and local residents of Mosipora village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have strongly defended the staff of Government Middle School Mosipora, rejecting recent allegations that teachers forcibly cut the hair of two school children.
The reports, circulated on social media by certain individuals, sparked controversy earlier this week. However, both parents of the children involved and the Markazi Jamia Masjid Shareef of Mosipora have rubbished the claims, calling them a baseless attempt to malign the image of the school and its teachers.
In video statements now widely shared online, the parents clarified that they themselves had trimmed the long hair of their children at home and that no teacher was involved. “We are grateful to the teachers of Government Middle School Mosipora who have been sincerely educating our children. The propaganda being spread is false and motivated by personal grudges,” one of the parents said.

Locals alleged that a few individuals with vested interests, holding personal resentment against the teachers, are behind the disinformation campaign.
“These people not only want to defame the school but also tarnish the reputation of our peaceful village. We condemn this strongly and urge authorities not to fall for such malicious tactics,” they stated.
The Markazi Jamia Masjid Shareef of the village also issued a statement backing the teachers and describing the allegations as untrue. “The school has been functioning smoothly under the leadership of its headmaster. There is no question of any misconduct by the staff,” said one of the senior members of the mosque committee.
A respected elder of the village also came forward in defence of the school staff. “We are thankful to Headmaster Gulzar Ahmed who has been taking real pains to ensure proper education is imparted to our children. His dedication and the efficiency of the staff deserve appreciation, not slander,” he said.
Speaking to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, Headmaster Gulzar Ahmed expressed disappointment over the episode. “It is deeply unfortunate that some people are trying to damage the image of this school. Once I was even called by a senior official and visited his office, yet some elements falsely claimed I leave school premises right after marking attendance. These are not signs of a healthy society,” he said, adding that no teacher ever punished any student or cut anyone’s hair.
He reiterated that the school remains committed to the holistic development of its students and urged the community to see through the attempts of those trying to derail its functioning with falsehoods. [KNT]
