Police, Army Seize Pistols, Grenades, IEDs in Joint Operation

Poonch, July 10, KNT: Security forces on Thursday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a joint search operation in the Akabr Gali area of Poonch district.

Official sources said that the operation was launched jointly by the police and army based on specific inputs. During the search, a significant quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the area.

The recovered items include two pistols, 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), six grenades, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and an electronic set.

Officials said the recovery may have averted a potential militant strike in the region. The seized materials have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended use of the arms cache.
