Rahul Gandhi, Kharge Interact with J&K Congress Leaders in Delhi

New Delhi, July 22, KNT: Amid the ongoing political heat in Parliament, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge held a detailed interaction with senior Congress leaders from Jammu and Kashmir at an auditorium in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Though the two top Congress leaders were initially scheduled to join a protest organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) at Jantar Mantar, demanding the immediate restoration of full statehood to the Union Territory, their plans were disrupted by uproar and continuous logjams in the Parliament.

Divulging details of the interaction to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, senior Congress leader and former JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmad Mir said that Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge later met with the J&K Congress leadership in a closed-door session to reaffirm the party’s unwavering support for the statehood cause.
