Srinagar, Jul 1, KNT: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the promotion of six Deputy Directors to the rank of Joint Directors in the J&K Economics and Statistics (Gazetted) Service. The promotions were cleared following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), which convened on June 27, 2025.

According to an official order issued by the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department and accessed by Kashmir News Trust, the officers have been elevated in Pay Level-12 (Rs 78,800 to Rs 2,09,200). The government has clarified that the promoted officers will continue to serve at their present places of posting until new assignments are formally issued.

The officers promoted to the post of Joint Director include Ankita Sharma, Aashiq Hussain Khanday, Priyanka Darshini Parihar, Akhil Thakur, Umesh Baru, and Shivwali.

While the promotions mark a significant career progression for these officers, the order also states that the appointments are subject to the outcome of any writ petitions currently pending before competent courts.
