CEO Doda Bans Unauthorized Visits by Media, NGOs to Government Schools

Doda, July 31, KNT: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda has issued a directive restricting the entry of media persons, NGOs, and private agencies into government schools without prior written permission. The move comes in response to repeated incidents of unapproved visits that were reportedly disrupting academic activities and compromising discipline and student privacy.

The circular, addressed to all Heads of Institutions from Primary to Higher Secondary level, including ZEOs, Principals, and Headmasters, underlines the need for immediate and strict compliance. It states that no external party will be allowed to enter school premises for the purposes of interviews, photography, videography, or surveys without formal written approval from the CEO’s office.

In cases where any such approach is made by an outside party, school heads are required to report it immediately. Additionally, any legitimate external engagement must first be cleared by the CEO through proper approval.

The directive warns that failure to comply will attract disciplinary action under prescribed norms against the delinquent heads of institutions. To ensure enforcement, the CEO has instructed that the circular be read out in staff meetings and prominently displayed on school notice boards. [KNT]
