Security forces continued their combing and search operation in the Akhal Devsar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district for the fourth consecutive day on Monday. One militant has been killed so far in the operation, which began earlier this week following intelligence inputs about militant presence in the area.
The operation involves coordinated efforts by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG). The encounter intensified overnight into Saturday, with intermittent firefights reported throughout the night.

In an update on social media platform X, the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps said, that Operation Akhal Kulgam: Intermittent and intense firefight continued through the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the noose while maintaining contact. One militant has been neutralised by the security forces so far. Operation continues.”
