Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society Holds Annual ‘Round the Boats’ Dal Lake Swim

Srinagar, Aug 7, KNT: The annual “Round the Boats Swim,” a celebrated tradition of the Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society, was successfully held in Srinagar with enthusiastic participation from students and staff. The event, deeply rooted in the legacy of Tyndale Biscoe School, drew a total of 96 swimmers, demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship, physical endurance, and team spirit.

The activity, conducted in the waters of Dal Lake, holds historical significance as part of the educational vision introduced by Rev. Cecil Earle Tyndale Biscoe, the school’s visionary founder. More than a physical challenge, the swim reflects the enduring mission of the institution: to educate students as responsible citizens through discipline, courage, and character-building experiences.

Out of the 96 participants, 87 swimmers successfully completed the challenging “Round the Boats” swim. The qualifiers included: 73 students from Tyndale-Biscoe School, Srinagar, 5 from TBMS Tangmarg, Baramulla, and 15 girls from Mallinson Girls’ School

The event was flagged off by Director TBMS Mr Rahul Rex Kaul and Principal TBMS Ms. Mabel Yonzon.

The Principal Tyndale-Biscoe School said that the event was hailed as a great success, both in its organisation and impact. It received widespread appreciation for upholding the school’s long-standing commitment to holistic education and physical fitness.

The school principal extended gratitude to the District Administration, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local police for their invaluable support in ensuring the event’s smooth and safe conduct.

Meanwhile, the school has announced that the annual one-mile swim will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025. [KNT]
