DC Ganderbal Orders Demarcation of Roshni Land in Sonamarg, Revenue Officials Tasked to Hand Over State Land to SDA

 

Ganderbal, Sep 11, KNT: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal has constituted a special team of revenue officials for the demarcation of State land in Sonamarg that had been transferred to the Tourism Development Authority under the Roshni scheme.

The team, headed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan, includes Tehsildar Gund Manzoor Ahmad, Naib Tehsildar Sheerpathri Mohammad Yousuf Lone, GQ Sonamarg Mohammad Hussain Teli, GQ Wakura Mohammad Shafi Lone, Patwari Pandach Arshid Ahmad Sheikh, and Office Patwari Kangan Shahbaz Ahmad Malik.

According to the order, the team will demarcate the parcels of land as per Government Order No. Rev(S) 256 of 2007 dated 25 July 2007, and hand them over to the Sonamarg Development Authority against proper receipt. The demarcation report, along with the handover/takeover record, is to be submitted within two weeks.

The order has been issued in connection with matters under probe pertaining to Roshni/land encroachments which have also been referred to the CBI for verification.

Notably, Kashmir News Trust had earlier carried multiple reports highlighting the issue of Roshni land transfers and encroachments in Sonamarg, which had drawn public and administrative attention. [KNT]
