Man injured in black bear attack in Handwara orchard

Kupwara, Sept 5, KNT: A man was injured on Friday after being attacked by a black bear in his apple orchard in Batagund Mawer area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said the injured person, identified as Danish Nabi Tali, son of Ghulam Nabi Tali, was working in his orchard when the wild animal pounced on him.

Locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue him from the bear’s grip. He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Handwara for treatment.

Doctors at GMC Handwara said his condition is being monitored.
