Imran Nabi Dar Appeals to PDP, PC, AIP, AAP for Support in Rajya Sabha Polls

Srinagar, Oct 15, KNT: National Conference (NC) Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha candidate Imran Nabi Dar on Tuesday appealed to legislators from the PDP, People’s Conference, Awami Ittehad Party, Aam Aadmi Party, and independents to support the NC in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, urging them to “stand together to reject the communal politics of the BJP.”
Speaking to reporters, Dar said the Rajya Sabha elections provide an opportunity for Jammu and Kashmir’s elected representatives to demonstrate unity against forces that have, in his words, “snatched away the rights and dignity of the people.”
“It is the right time for all legislators to reject the divisive and communal agenda of the BJP. This party thrives on polarisation and has eroded the democratic and constitutional identity of Jammu and Kashmir,” Dar said.

Dar, who is himself one of the NC’s Rajya Sabha candidates, said the support of secular and regional parties is crucial to send a strong message of resistance to what he described as “New Delhi’s political encroachment.” He appealed for cooperation among all like-minded parties to “protect the interests of the people and uphold the constitutional values of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The NC leader also demanded the immediate release of Doda MLA Mehraj Malik, saying he represents a large section of the population and must be allowed to exercise his democratic right to vote in the upcoming polls. “Doda MLA Mehraj Malik has every right to participate in the election process. His voice represents thousands, and his detention raises serious questions about fairness,” Dar said.
He added that the NC’s fight is not limited to securing seats but is aimed at defending the political and constitutional rights of the people. “Our stand is clear. We will not allow Jammu and Kashmir’s political future to be dictated by a party that has built its foundation on discrimination and division,” Dar asserted. [KNT]
