Winter Control Room set up in Budgam to tackle inclement weather

 

Budgam, Oct 3, KNT: In view of the weather advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting inclement conditions from October 5, the district administration Budgam has established a 24×7 Winter Control Room at the district headquarters to tackle any emergency situation.

According to an order issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, the District Disaster Control Room has been made functional to monitor and respond to situations arising during adverse weather conditions. The general public has been advised to contact the Control Room in case of emergencies on phone number 01951-259223 or through mobile numbers 9469841342, 9320647794 and 9186008200.

The advisory further cautioned people living in upper reaches and vulnerable areas of Budgam district not to venture into hilly areas unnecessarily and to take all precautionary measures to safeguard life and property.

“Tourists and transport operators are also advised to strictly adhere to the weather advisories and follow safety guidelines,” the order stated.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam signed the notification, stressing that the step has been taken to ensure timely assistance to people during the winter season. Copies of the order have also been shared with the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Superintendent of Police Budgam, and other concerned officers for necessary action. KNT]
