Budgam Administration Pulls Down Unauthorized Brick Kilns in Beerwah, Locals Welcome Action

Beerwah, Nov 25, KNT: In a decisive action against unauthorized brick kiln operations, the Tehsil Administration Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam on Monday demolished three illegal brick kilns in the Mulshullah area. The operation was carried out with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the civil administration.

Officials told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the three units had been operating without permission and in violation of environmental guidelines. The demolished kilns include P71 (Adil Brick Kiln) operated by Mohammad Rajab of Srinagar, HBK Hydrop Brick Kiln, and another kiln listed as 56-P, which had also been earlier taken down for violations.

Locals from the area said the illegal brick kilns were damaging agricultural fields, orchards and the surrounding environment, adding that the units had caused heavy air pollution affecting public health. They said unchecked operations had become a serious threat to the local ecosystem and appreciated the administration for taking firm action.
