City Judge Jammu Questions Police Inaction on BDO’s Complaint

Jammu, Nov 24, KNT: The Court of the City Judge Jammu, presided over by Ghulam Murtaza, on Monday issued a notice to the SHO Gandhi Nagar seeking an explanation for not registering an FIR against suspended DySP Sunil Singh Jasrotia, his PSOs and other accompanying police personnel. The direction came on a complaint filed by Azhar Khan, a JKAS officer posted as Block Development Officer Nagrota.

Khan, who was serving as Nodal Officer for transportation for the 77-Nagrota Assembly Constituency bye-election, alleged that the suspended officer assaulted, abused and wrongfully confined him on November 10 while he was on authorised election duty. He said he and his colleague Abbas Ali were also subjected to caste-based insults, their phones were seized and they were prevented from performing election-related work.
