
Srinagar, Nov 14, KNT: Delhi Public School Srinagar delivered an exceptional performance at the Thang Ta Championship 2025, held from November 9 to 11 at the Polo Ground Indoor Stadium in Srinagar. The event, which drew nearly 550 athletes from across Jammu and Kashmir, witnessed DPS Srinagar emerging as one of the standout contingents with an extraordinary medal haul.
Out of 17 students fielded by the school, an impressive 14 secured podium finishes, underscoring the strong talent pool and competitive training culture at the institution. The team’s final tally included seven gold medals, five silver medals and two bronze medals.

The seven gold medalists included Onizah Qadri of Class 12 H1, Aaminah Irfan of Class 12 S1, Munaza Aira of Class 9 G, Farjumand Riyaz of Class 6 A, Zynah Sartaj Mantoo of Class 7 H, Arsh Bhat of Class 7 B and Tabin Peerzada of Class 4 B. Silver medals were won by Fatima Irfan of Class 11 S4, Noorain Wani of Class 7 G, Khadija Arfat of Class 6 I, Syeda Zainab of Class 6 F and Trisha Sethi of Class 6 A. Bronze medals were secured by Arbain Ashraf of Class 9 E and Seerat Fatima of Class 6 G.
The school also acknowledged the spirited participation of Aleena Malik of Class 7 A, Syed Aisha of Class 7 C and Palkit Kour Mehta of Class 6 B, who contributed significantly to the team effort.
Principal Shafaq Afshan expressed delight over the performance, saying the achievement reflected the students’ hard work and discipline. She said that having fourteen out of seventeen students on the podium in a UT-level championship was a testament to their dedication and the spirit of Thang Ta.
Chairman Vijay Dhar also congratulated the medal winners, describing the victory as a proud moment for the school. He said the performance demonstrated the commitment of both students and coaches in bringing honour to the institution. [KNT]
