Drug Peddler Arrested in South Kashmir’s Shopian, 245 Grams of Charas Seized

 

Shopian, Nov 13, KNT: Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered a charas-like substance from his possession during routine checking within the jurisdiction of Police Station Imamsahib.

According to police, during naka checking at Manihal crossing, a person moving suspiciously was apprehended tactfully by the naka party. Upon his search, charas-like substance in the form of six sticks weighing approximately 245 grams was recovered from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Allai, a local of Melhura Zainapora.

Police said that a case under FIR No. 37/2025 has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused and to identify the wider network involved in the drug trade. [KNT]
