Handwara Police Conduct Checking Drive at GMC Handwara as Part of Heightened Security Measures


Handwara, Nov 21, KNT: As part of the heightened vigilance measures being implemented across health institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, Handwara Police on Friday carried out an extensive inspection drive at Government Medical College Handwara.

Officials said the checking was conducted on the directions of SSP Handwara and in coordination with the district administration. Multiple sections of the college were inspected during the exercise, with particular emphasis on student and staff lockers. Authorities said the aim was to verify the proper use of storage areas, ensure compliance with institutional protocols and prevent any possible misuse of facilities.

Police and administrative officers said the inspections were essential to uphold transparency, strengthen discipline and reinforce the overall security framework within the institution.

The drive was conducted in the presence of the Tehsildar Handwara and the Station House Officer Handwara, who supervised the process to ensure that it adhered to established procedures. Authorities said such inspection exercises will continue periodically as part of routine security and administrative measures.
