IGP Jammu reviews security in Poonch after Delhi blast

Poonch, Nov 19, CNS: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti on Wednesday visited the border district of Poonch to assess the overall security situation in the wake of the recent blast in Delhi that left fifteen people dead. The visit came amid heightened vigilance across sensitive areas of Jammu region.
Officials said security agencies have intensified surveillance measures along the border belt, with additional checkpoints and patrolling strengthened following the November 10 incident. The IGP’s visit was aimed at reviewing preparedness and ensuring coordinated efforts among different forces operating in the district.
During his tour, the senior officer held a meeting with top security officials and received a detailed briefing on the current security grid, deployment patterns and ongoing surveillance operations. Officers updated him on preventive steps taken to secure vulnerable points and maintain close monitoring along movement corridors.
Police officials said the district continues to remain on high alert, with focus on intelligence gathering and strengthened area domination to prevent any attempts at disturbance. They added that the security review is part of routine measures being undertaken across the region following the Delhi blast.
