LoP Sunil Sharma Says Admissions Should Be Limited to Believers of Sanatan Dharma in SMVDU Only

Srinagar, Nov 23, KNT: BJP leader Sunil Sharma has said that a delegation of senior party MLAs met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and raised concerns over recent admissions at the Mata Vaishno Devi medical institution. He said the delegation discussed what they described as community-specific admissions and urged the administration to restrict entry only to those who believe in Sanatan Dharma.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sharma said the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is supported by devotees who expect the development of Sanatan Dharma. He said the delegation submitted that admissions at the institution should reflect that ethos.

“Our senior MLA delegation met LG Sinha and discussed the Mata Vaishno Devi medical institution where community-specific students have gained admission. Those who donate to this trust seek the development of Sanatan Dharma. We urged the LG that admission should be ensured only for those who believe in Sanatan Dharma and Mata Vaishno Devi,” Sharma said.

Notably, netizens have termed the protests by fringe groups as drama, stating that admissions at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are conducted through NEET purely on merit and the entire process is determined by the Centre. . [KNT]
