Medical Bodies Condemn Delhi Blast, Express Shock Over Alleged Involvement of Medicos

Srinagar, Nov 23, KNT: Major medical bodies have strongly condemned the November 10 bomb blast near Red Fort, New Delhi, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and left dozens injured. Separate statements issued by the FAIMA Doctors Association, Medical Faculty Association (GMC/GDC), Society of Consultant Doctors J&K, and Doctors Association Kashmir described the incident as a barbaric act of violence that has no place in any civilised society.

Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, National Executive Member of FAIMA and Vice President of the All India Medical Students’ Association, said the attack was tragic and deeply disturbing, adding that the brutality inflicted on innocent civilians demanded collective condemnation. He expressed grief over the casualties and said such violence must be rejected unequivocally.

The Society of Consultant Doctors J&K also denounced the attack, calling it a moment of profound sorrow for the nation. The body said that if allegations involving medical professionals were proven true, it would represent a grave betrayal of the values of healing. It urged calm and unity while demanding strict action against those found guilty.

Doctors Association Kashmir similarly condemned the blast, calling the violence unacceptable and inhumane. The association said it places full faith in the justice system and expects authorities to ensure full accountability under the law. It said the medical community has always stood for humanity, compassion and national unity. Such acts of violence, it added, will not weaken the resolve of doctors to heal, protect and serve society.

All four organisations expressed unwavering solidarity with the victims, reaffirmed their commitment to humanitarian values, and urged the public to stay united against all forms of extremism. [KNT]
