Army Subedar Dies of Heart Attack in Naugam Sector

Kupwara, Dec 22, KNT: An Army Subedar died of a heart attack in the Naugam sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday. Officials said the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad.

According to details, the soldier has been identified as Subedar Laike Ram, belonging to 12 Rajputana Rifles under 17 Infantry Brigade. He had served in the Army for 26 years and was aged 45.

Officials said the soldier suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while on duty in the forward area. Colleagues rushed to provide immediate assistance before shifting him for medical evaluation, where he was declared dead.

Army authorities informed that standard procedures were initiated soon after the incident, including documentation and formal intimation to the family. The soldier who hails from Uttar Pradesh is survived by his wife.
