Authorities Threaten Seizure, Auction of Illegally Dumped Material in Bandipora

Bandipora, Dec 17, KNT: The District Mineral Office of the Geology and Mining Department, Bandipora, has issued a strict public notice warning locals of Watapora to remove any illegally dumped material from their premises or from public roads and lands within 24 hours.
According to the notice issued, any material found dumped illegally or lying unauthorised within private or public spaces must be cleared within the stipulated time from the issuance of the notice. The department has cautioned that failure to comply will invite immediate seizure of the material.
The notice further states that the seized material will be disposed of through auction without any further intimation to the defaulters. It also warns that strict legal action will be initiated against violators under the relevant laws and rules in force, and all consequences arising out of such action will be borne by the defaulters at their own risk and cost.
Officials have made it clear that the directive should be treated as final and binding, leaving no scope for relaxation or extension. The notice has also been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora for information and to the Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, with a request to direct the concerned Station House Officer to provide police assistance whenever required.
