CIK Conducts Predawn Raids at 12 Locations Across Kashmir in Online Militancy Glorification Case


Srinagar, Dec 16, KNT: Counter Intelligence Kashmir on Tuesday carried out predawn raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged online glorification of militancy and attempts to recruit youth through digital platforms.
Officials said the searches were conducted at 12 locations spread across seven districts including Pulwama, Budgam, Kulgam, Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag and Kupwara. The operation was carried out after search warrants were obtained from the competent court.
The raids were conducted in connection with Case FIR No. 03 of 2023 registered at Police Station CIK under Sections 153 A and 505 of the IPC and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. According to officials, the case pertains to activities involving online content aimed at glorifying militancy and promoting recruitment.
Police said the searches were part of sustained efforts to curb misuse of social media and other online platforms for unlawful activities. Further details of the operation are expected to be shared as the investigation progresses. [KNT]
