FAIMA Seeks Fair Probe in IGMC Shimla Doctor Case


New Delhi, Dec 26, KNT: The FAIMA Doctors Association has written to the Government of Himachal Pradesh seeking immediate intervention to ensure the safety of healthcare workers and a fair, transparent and impartial inquiry into the matter involving Dr Raghav at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla.
In a formal communication addressed to the Secretary, Health Department, Himachal Pradesh, FAIMA National Executive member Dr Mohammad Momin Khan said the recent incident at IGMC Shimla has caused serious concern among doctors across the state and the country. He urged the authorities to strictly adhere to due process of law before taking any action that could affect the dignity and career of a medical professional.
The Association emphasized that healthcare professionals work under immense pressure and that any administrative or disciplinary action must follow established procedures and principles of natural justice. It warned that actions taken without a comprehensive, fact based investigation risk undermining morale among doctors and could adversely impact patient care.
FAIMA also stressed the need for a secure working environment for doctors, stating that safety and fair administrative processes are essential for maintaining confidence within the medical community. The Association said the current situation has raised apprehensions among healthcare workers, who are closely watching how the matter is handled by the authorities.

Seeking swift action, FAIMA requested the Health Department to intervene immediately to restore confidence among doctors and ensure that justice is delivered without prejudice.
