Forty-two Officers Complete Cyber and Crypto Investigation Training at SKPA

 

Udhampur, Dec 20, KNT: The valediction ceremony of two specialised training programmes was held at Sher i Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur on Saturday, marking the completion of capacity building courses aimed at strengthening police response to cyber and financial crime investigations.

Forty-two officers from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the programmes. The first course on Investigation of Cyber Crime was sponsored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre in New Delhi, while the second course focused on Crypto currency Investigations. Both modules were designed to equip police personnel with advanced skills required to address emerging digital threats and complex financial crime patterns.

SSP Benam Tosh, Deputy Director SKPA Udhampur, presided over the ceremony and distributed certificates among the participants. In his address, he highlighted the growing challenges posed by cybercrime and virtual currencies and stressed the need for continuous professional training to keep pace with rapidly evolving digital environments. He appreciated the commitment of the trainees and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in ongoing field investigations. He also advised them to uphold honesty, integrity and objectivity while conducting investigations.

The programmes concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the department’s focus on enhancing specialised investigative capacity within the police force.

The courses were coordinated by Course Directors Vivek Kalsotra and Sanjeet Sharma with support from faculty members Sanjay Kumar and Melisha Devi. [KNT]
