Helmet, Seat Belt Violations Among Multiple Offences Detected During Traffic Enforcement Drive in Shopian

Shopian, Dec 13, KNT: In continuation of its sustained efforts to ensure road safety and enforce traffic regulations, Shopian Police has intensified action against traffic violations involving both two-wheelers and four-wheelers across the district.

During a special enforcement drive conducted at multiple locations, police teams challaned several motorists for a range of violations, including riding without helmets, travelling without seat belts, driving without valid licences, incomplete or improper documentation, overloading, rash driving, and other traffic-related offences.

Officials said the drive was aimed at promoting responsible driving behaviour and reducing the risk of road accidents, particularly during the winter season when road conditions often become hazardous.

Shopian Police reiterated that wearing helmets is mandatory for both riders and pillion passengers on two-wheelers, while the use of seat belts is compulsory for drivers and passengers of four-wheelers. Police officials stressed that driving without a valid licence or required documents is a serious violation that endangers not only the driver but also other road users.
